I Finally Wrote a Mission Statement for My Solo Business

A week ago, I wrote an “in-progress” post about working on the Mission and Vision Statement for my solopreneur business, The Umaverse.

Today, I’m going to share the “result,” which I put in quotes because I know that there is no end to contemplating my mission here on earth. The best I can do is decide to call it “good for now.”

It feels like I’ve been drafting and editing this statement forever. Indeed, crafting the “perfect” vision and mission statements for The Umaverse has been challenging.

The goal was to succinctly state what my work is all about and why I’m doing it. But each time I revised them, more ideas flowed forth. Instead of distilling and clarifying, I was writing a treatise.

Last week, I finally decided, “Enough! No more drafts!” (Yes, I said it out loud. I even threw up my hands.) It worked. I finished refining and polishing it just this morning. Am I excited? Heck yeah, I sure am!

I’m excited to share them with you, yet I also do so with a sense of gravity.

This marks a rite of passage for my business, one that I can’t quite describe. But I can feel it. I have crossed a threshold and from here, the view is…
